| New trim levels and model designations |
With the introduction of the 3.7-liter V6 engine, the model designation changes to 370Z. The trim level lineup has been simplified. There are two trim levels:
A Sport Package is available for both trim levels and a Navigation Package is available for 370Z Touring. See Packages under the Features & Specs tab for more detailed information. |
| Engine |
| Next-generation VQ37VHR V6 engine |
The 3.7-liter VQ engine is now standard on 370Z Coupe. Key features include:
- Higher redline (7500 rpm)
- Specially tuned exhaust system that includes equal length exhaust manifolds and low exhaust back pressure
- Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) system that controls both intake valve timing and intake valve lift to enhance performance, increase fuel economy, and reduce emissions
- Two solid side engine mounts and a liquid-filled rear engine mount
- Enhanced friction reduction measures that help improve emissions control and fuel economy
Output ratings are:
- 332 hp @ 7000 rpm
- 270 lb-ft of torque @ 5200 rpm

| Drivetrain |
| SynchroRev Match (Optional) |
370Z’s 6-speed manual transmission is now available with SynchroRev Match, a world-first technology for manual transmissions that is part of the Sport Package.
SynchroRev Match manages engine rpm during up- and downshifting to limit shift shock and enhance performance. When downshifting, SynchroRev Match raises engine rpm momentarily to allow faster, smoother downshifts and a sportier sound and feel. |
| 7-speed automatic transmission |
An available 7-speed automatic transmission replaces the previous 5-speed. Key features include:
- Adaptive Shift Control (ASC), which uses a lateral acceleration sensor to detect driving conditions such as curves and/or hills and hold current gear for better acceleration out of the turn.
- Downshift Rev Matching (DRM), which raises engine rpm momentarily to provide faster, smoother downshifts and a sportier sound and feel when downshifting in manual shift mode.
- Magnesium paddle shifters mounted on the steering column, which allow drivers to shift gears without removing their hands from the steering wheel.
|
| Suspension and Steering |
| Independent double-wishbone front suspension |
The front suspension has been changed from an independent multi-link to an independent double-wishbone design.
The double-wishbone design helps enhance handling by controlling vertical movement of the tires with minimal inward or outward tilt. |
| Body reinforcement braces revised |
The front strut brace adds a “V-bar” link to the bulkhead that creates a triangle-shaped brace, enhancing rigidity.
The rear strut brace is deleted to create more trunk storage, but the rear bulkhead brace is redesigned to provide enhanced rigidity. |
| Brakes |
| Nissan Sport Brakes (Optional) |
High-performance brakes are part of the Sport Package and replace the previous Brembo® braking system.
- The front disc brakes have 14-inch ventilated rotors with aluminum 4-piston opposed calipers.
- The rear brakes have 13.8-inch ventilated rotors with aluminum 2-piston opposed calipers.
|
| Wheels and Tires |
| Weight-saver spare tire |
The spare tire has the diameter of a full-size tire but narrower tread, so it is lighter and requires less storage space. |
| Chassis |
| Next-generation Front Midship (FM) platform |
The FM platform is revised to enhance rigidity, reduce weight, and lower the center of gravity. The wheelbase is shorter, but the front and rear tracks are wider. Front/rear weight distribution remains at 53/47 percent. |
| Exterior |
| Lightweight body components added |
In addition to the hood, the doors and rear hatch now are made of aluminum alloy. |
| Heated outside mirrors deleted |
Heated outside mirrors are no longer available on any trim level. |

| Auto door locks |
The doors are set to lock automatically when the vehicle is moving approximately 15 mph or more. Users can turn this feature off or on using the power door lock switch. |
| Flat-blade windshield wipers |
Flat-blade wipers replace the previous wet-arm design. Windshield wiper nozzles are relocated to the cowl.
The vehicle-speed-sensitive function has been deleted. |
| Nissan Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition |
Nissan Intelligent Key eliminates the need to use the remote keyless entry when locking or unlocking the doors, or the ignition key to start the engine. It incorporates remote keyless entry functions. |
| Nissan Hard Drive Navigation System1 (Optional on 370Z Touring) |
The previous DVD-based system is replaced with a hard-drive-based system that includes:
